Mission
The Committee mission is to:
- Serve as a major advocate of Loss Prevention and Control within the steel fabricating industry.
- Assist AISC members in achieving the economic and morale benefits that can result from effective management controls in lost workday injury prevention and the prevention of other incidents which adversely affect operations.
The scope of activities will include:
- Developing and disseminating:
- Safety guidelines and checklists
- Newsletters, publicity releases and motivational materials
- Safety and loss control programs and loss control resource manuals
- Safe operating procedures
- Loss control training and educational programs
- Maintain liaison with various governmental bodies such as OSHA, EPA, state safety departments and standards making groups.
- Promote the achievement of excellence in safety performance through encouraging member management to commit to the establishment of high, but achievable goals, and recognizing that the implementation of Zero injury techniques can make zero lost workdays an achievable reality.
