Night School: Basic Steel Design (Session 1)

Session 1: Introduction to Basic Steel Design

Ground yourself in the principles of steel design with this 12 hour course (eight 1.5-hour sessions) presented by Louis F. Geschwindner! "Basic Steel Design: A Review of the Principles of Steel Design According to ANSI/AISC 360-22" is best suited for those who have not designed in structural steel for some time or those who feel a basic review will improve their overall capabilities.

We’ll start out with an introduction to structural safety and the principles of LRFD and ASD design, loads and load combinations, the AISC Specification, and structural analysis. From there, we’ll dedicate sessions to specific design topics including tension members, compression members, bending members, designing for combined forces, stability design and analysis, and composite members.
