Campus Connection Grants

AISC offers an exciting opportunity to bring high-quality speaking engagements to your campus! The AISC Education Foundation provides funding in the form of reimbursement grants to encourage university faculty and AISC Student Clubs to hold on-campus, in-person speaking engagements with inspiring leaders of the structural steel industry.

A Campus Connection grant can offer the following opportunities to you and your students:

  • Explore careers in design, research, and/or construction management
  • Learn about the latest innovations in structural steel
  • Expand the network of speakers and visitors/industry guests to your school

Choose a speaking engagement topic based on a session at the most recent NASCC: The Steel Conference. Follow these steps to apply for a Campus Connection grant:

  1. Review the 2024 Steel Conference session recordings. (A link to the 2024 session recordings will be available soon.)
  2. Identify a session topic and speaker you would like to visit your campus.
  3. Contact the speaker to ensure they can travel to your campus during the requested term and to carefully budget all aspects of the speaker’s visit.
  4. Complete the grant application.

A maximum of $1,200 will be awarded for successful grant proposals. Applications are reviewed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis and will be approved as funding allows. Apply by June 1 of this year to receive priority.

Funds will be reimbursed to the university or department following the event (the grant awardee must submit a completed reimbursement form). Funding may be used for speaker travel expenses, speaker honorarium, food and non-alcoholic beverages for attendees, and/or A/V costs for recording the presentation. The grant recipient is responsible for coordinating all logistics with their selected speaker.
