Product Description

The new standard ANSI/AISC 358-05 Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications is now available for free download.

This standard has been developed by the AISC Connection Prequalification Review Panel in accordance with Appendix P of the AISC Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 341-05). The connections have been prequalified for use in special and intermediate steel moment frames, without the need for additional testing. The standard currently addresses three types of connections – the reduced beam section (RBS) connection, the bolted unstiffened extended end plate (BUEP) connection, and the bolted stiffened extended end plate (BSEP) connection.
