Night School: Fundamentals of Connection Design (6 of 8)

Brush up on our connection design skills with this 12-hour course (eight 1.5-hour sessions) presented by Brad Davis and Matthew Eatherton!

The course delivers foundational instruction in the analysis and design of connections starting with discussions on critical bolt and weld limit states. We’ll dive right into practical design examples and also take a comprehensive look at shear connections. In the second half of the course, we’ll introduce the design of moment, bracing, and seismic connections.

Session 6: Moment Connections, Part II will include an introduction to end-plate moment connections and focus on gravity/wind design. This session will review concepts, design procedures, and design examples consistent with the newly released AISC Design Guide 39.
