Former Vice President of Engineering & Research

Larry is the former Vice President of Engineering & Research for AISC. He was responsible for all engineering activities at AISC, including developing the AISC Technical Standards, Specifications, and Manuals, coordinating research activities, and overseeing technology innovations, technical steel bridge activities, and the Steel Solution Center. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan and Pennsylvania and has more than forty years of structural engineering experience. 

He was previously Vice President of Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation, where he was responsible for coordinating all activities of Douglas Steel. He formerly served on the AISC Board of Directors and as the Chair of the AISC TC-12 Quality Control & Assurance Specification Committee. He was also a member of the AISC Safety Committee, AISC Research Committee, AISC TC-6 Connection Design Specification Committee, AISC Full Specification Committee, and the Research Council on Structural Connections. Larry was appointed to the MIOSHA Part 26, Structural Steel Erection Advisory Committee and MIOSHA Part 10, Lifting & Digging Advisory Committee. In 2011, the Structural Engineers Association of Michigan named him Structural Engineer of the Year.
