Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives' Transportation and Infrastructure Committee unveiled the Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act (STRRA) of 2015, a bipartisan, six-year surface transportation bill to reauthorize and reform federal highway, bridge and transit programs. The Committee is scheduled to mark up the legislation at 10 a.m. tomorrow, October 22, at 10 a.m. (ET), which will be livestreamed here.

The introduction of the House bill follows action by the Senate in July in passing a multi-year bill with increased funding levels. October 29 is the deadline for both Houses of Congress to either pass a long-term bill or, extend current funding through yet another shorter-term measure.

Visit the American Steel Coalition site to contact your members of Congress and urge them to enact a sustainable, long-term and robustly funded transportation bill.
